The state of young adults who have aged out of foster care in most parts of the country is a cause of concern for the well-being of these youth in the country. The most recent findings indicated that youth who have aged out of foster care feel unprepared for life and face some financial, social and psychological challenges which make the transition to adulthood more problematic. They have a problem of unstable housing, employment and community integration. The same study found that onethird of former foster care youth had mental health disorders including depression, dysthymia, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), social phobia, alcohol abuse, alcohol dependence, substance abuse, or substance dependence and even lack of access to health care. These and many more can pose great threats to the wellbeing of the young adults who have aged out of foster care. Therefore, the needs identified in this project are provision of well meaning programs such as coaching on life skills, independence, financial stability and more for young adults who have aged out of foster care. Without putting structures to meet these needs, achieving success in the target population will not be attainable Considering the facts stated above, it is clear that there is a need for an intervention that will provide solutions to the common challenges identified which affect the sustainability and wellbeing of young adults who have aged out of foster care. For this reason, Hickstory wants to provide services that will bring solutions to the challenges faced by these young adults in terms of health and general welfare. However, we are facing financial constraints concerning achieving our goal for the project. Nonetheless, your donation will be a booster for us in achieving our project needs. That way, Hickstory will have all the materials required to give these young adults the best life they deserve
